Genesis 22:1-5

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

Sed llenos del Espíritu Santo

Efesios 5:13-20

More Concrete and Rough-in

The concrete floor is in place – including the sanctuary and the Leroy and Evelyn Buller Family Fellowship and Welcome Center. Rough-in work is continuing for the interior walls, electrical, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, sprinkler system, and so on.

The stairs to the platform are taking shape.

And we ran a test today to make certain it could hold Pastor Urshan.

The rough-in for the men’s rest room is in the foreground of this next picture. The east wall (facing the annex parking lot) is on the right, and those larger rectangles will be windows. One of the entrances to the sanctuary is on the left, and the prayer room is shaping up in the background.

The rough-in for the ladies’ rest room is in the foreground of this picture, and the administrative office area is on the back left.

Work continues – as we pray for the safety of the talented team members working diligently in this active construction zone. The evidence of their skill is visible now, but most of this will be hidden when we move in.

And it’s still muddy outside!

The Floor of the Baptistry

I had the opportunity to visit the construction site today to check on the placement of some items that will soon be buried under the tons of concrete that will become the floor of the platform. I was escorted by Bro. Rodney Saunders, our onsite supervisor. It is an exciting and active place, so we were very careful, wearing our muddy boots and hard hats, and keeping very mindful of the activity around us.

After entering the sanctuary through a temporary opening, I took this picture looking toward the platform, while we were standing by one of the doorways. The crew is installing the reinforcing mesh that will be in the concrete floor in front of the platform.

We walked around the left side of the sanctuary and crossed over the platform space to the right side, where we could see this large space in front of some concrete forms.

We moved closer to see inside the area being formed up. The crew is busily preparing for the next step, where the concrete will be poured into those forms to make some walls.

And we moved a bit closer, to see the results of yesterday’s concrete pour – this is the floor of the baptistry! That little darker square section in the floor is the location of the drain that will be under the baptismal tank.

There is still much work to be done. But before you know it, that space will all be finished. The baptismal tank will be filled with water, and the whole church will be able to see it. Someone will go down in that water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins, and they shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost!
